CITYPACK
The AA CityPack Travel Guides contain a wealth of information on all aspects of your exploration of the major cities of the world.
Included is background information on the development of the city,
itineraries and places to visit with details of a large number
of shops, restaurants, hotels and places of interest.
Implemented as a Newton book of nearly 300 pages by CONTINUUM
ID's Joel Sciamma, the guides have been brought into the modern age by the inclusion
of hierarchical overview outlines, hot links and sidebar texts
to make navigation through the wealth of data easier and faster
than the printed book. 16 bit grey-scale graphics have also been
incorporated.
The ability of Newton books to skip to any page, create bookmarks
and allow the user to freely annotate the contents (but without
changing them) make the electronic guide a valuable companion
to your explorations.
Primarily for use on the MessagePad 2000/2100 series of hand-held
computers from Apple Computer, Inc., the CityPack guides are ideal
for use on the move while walking around - the totally pen-based
interface never requires the use of a keyboard.
Starting from the raw text data,a fully operational, linked and indexed Newton Book was created
in little over 40 hours to meet the deadlines of the AA multimedia
division.
The CityPack Newton Book editions are to be distributed electronically
from the AA Web site.
